For the past few weeks, Gem and I have been busy annoying the crap out of various people in Bath to get an amazing fundraising evening sorted. And we’ve only gone and fucking done it! HURRAH!
On May 11, we’re inviting all you lovely ladies to join us for an evening of amazing company (yes, ours), delicious food and the Mother of All Raffles at the utterly gorgeous Framptons in Bath.
A ticketed event, the cost is £15 (plus a small booking fee), for which ticket holders gain admission to a dedicated event section of the venue, access to a delicious buffet and one raffle entry. And trust me when I say, guys, you are going to want to be entered into…
…The Mother of All Raffles
I’m not usually one to blow my own trumpet, but on this occasion I’m busting out the fucking tuba for Gem and I – we’ve managed to get hold of some truly amazing prizes for this. I’m not talking some shit hamper with our unwanted Xmas smellies in, ooooh no. I’m talking seriously good swag, all of which is focused on the wellbeing of women.
It’s here that I’d like to publicly thank every single business owner who has donated a prize to this fundraiser. Gem and I really thought we’d meet quite a few closed doors when we approached people for donations. But we found the complete opposite. There are so many truly incredible local businesses in Bath and every single one we approached stepped up and got behind this fundraiser in a way we never expected. It makes me very proud to be part of this beautiful city and it’s amazing community. You’re all bloody wonderful and your support and unbelievable generosity really does mean the world. Thank you. Special mention goes to the wonderful Sophie Bennett, who has gone above and beyond the call of duty as my friend to help us make this a success.
So what are the prizes, I hear you cry? Well, without further ado, here are the confirmed prizes:
Two tickets to Thermae Bath Spa
£100 voucher for Hudson Steakhouse
Back, neck and shoulder massage at Bath Holistic Massage
Brunch for four at Framptons
Positive Planner journal from the lovely Ali + Finn
File and paint at LittleLAB
Breakfast for two at Newton Farm Cafe
30-min gift voucher for Bath Massage Co
Hair cut at Number Three
As I typed that, I realised I’m more than a little pissed that I can’t enter this raffle myself ha! If these weren’t amazing enough, we have plans for more prizes in the pipeline too! Additional raffle tickets will be available to purchase on the evening to increase your chances of winning. Keep your eyes peeled for more details of what’s up for grabs coming soon!
While this looks set to be an incredible night of fun and frolics, there’s a very serious and important reason behind it all. All the proceeds from the Mother of All Nights will go to Bluebell, a Bristol-based charity which wants to extend its services to Bath.
Both Gem and I were diagnosed with postnatal depression in first few months of our children’s lives and would’ve given anything for a local Bluebell. We can’t begin to explain what an amazing difference having a service like this will make to women and families in Bath also suffering the effects of this crippling illness. This fundraiser will help to make Bluebell Bath a reality, and by joining us on 11 May, you will be playing a huge part in making that happen.
The boring stuff
I just have to quickly cover a few terms and conditions about the night so everyone is clear what’s happening. Sorry, try as I might, I can’t make this bit interesting so bare with…
This is a ticketed-only event for women aged 18+, with a limited number due to venue capacity, so make sure to get your ticket as soon as possible. It’s first come, first serve – once they’re gone, they’re gone, so be quick!
I mentioned this in an earlier social post, but thought I should just cover it again. Partners are welcome after the event has ended at 10pm. The venue is open until 11-11;30 so more than enough time to join you for a drink later on. But the point of the evening is for us ladies to have a well-earned night off, and for dads/partners to look after the tiny humans for the evening. That said, this is by no means a mums-only night. Ladies – whether you have offspring or not – you are all very, very welcome.
All that’s left for me to say is a HUGE thank you to you guys in advance – I’ll see some of you on May 11 (I hope, otherwise Gem and I are going break records hitting that buffet on our own!).
